What Truth is In My Opinion

May 14th, 2008 by kdanielle

The definition of truth is hard and easy to explain. Defining truth can be harder to explain for different people. To me truth can be a variety of things. It can be honesty, responsibliltes, and even the opposite…lieing. People lie to cover up the truth, so it is a part of truth. Being able to tell the truth can be rewarding, liberating, and relieving. Though you can lie about the truth and hide it, it can be a good thing. Someone can be hiding the truth for a good cause. So the defenition of truth to me is telling someone something that they have done, that can be good or bad. You can also hide the truth for good and bad reasons.

Everyone and anyone can lie and tell the truth. It is best to tell the truth in my opinion, but also I believe that sometimes you must lie, depending on the reason. Liberation; feeling releaved after telling someone the truth. Sometimes keeping things bottled up and away from people…and then telling someone can make you feel liberated.

Say someone told you a secret about another person, and didn’t want you to tell anyone. They are probably telling you because they have kept it bottled up for so long. You on the other hand have to then keep another secret among yours. Would you rather feel liberated or bottled up?

That is the choice everyone has to make when they find something out about anyone, from anyone. What would you do? What’s your opinion?

The defenition of the truth is not the only part in it, it is also what you yourself know to be true. One thing that I know to be true is that when I was 4 years old my parents broke up, and I know that was hard. I was little so it didn’t really affect me right at that moment. The first thing that I asked when they told me and my sister they were getting a divore was “what’s a divore?”…I didnt really get it. I didn’t know that we were going to up and move all the way to Canada; but when I did was when it started getting hard. And also when I leave my dad when I go and visit him…its very hard to leave; it gets to me because I know I won’t see him for another year.

So the truth can be more than just an explantion of the word…it can be what you know it true. What do you think is true??

About Me

May 1st, 2008 by kdanielle

Hi, my name is Katie and I’m 13 years old. I live in Snow Lake, which is a very small town; there isn’t really anything to do here but we always find something to keep us occupied. In school we do a lot of blogging that is why I have a blog. The reason I am writing this post is because our teacher Mr. Fisher asked us to introduce ourselves to the new readers that will be on our blogs. Before I was in Mr. Fisher’s class I didn’t even know what a blog was. I really like the fact that we get to blog and work on the computers a lot.

Some things that I like to do with my spare time are to hang out with my friends, go ski-dooing, quading, tubing, and stuff like that. Things that we can do around town are a lot of things outside. With sports, I don’t play very many only volleyball; almost all of the girls in my class were on the team. We have a very small class around 23.

At home I have my mom Cindy, my step-dad Brian, and my sister Brittany. I also have a dog named Roxie and a cat Zoey. My real dads name is Danny and I have a step mom
Carolina; but my dad doesn’t live here, so I go to visit him in the summer and on holidays.

I pretty much summed it up altogether. Now you know a little bit about me, my class, and my family. Bye.

What Do Teenagers Need From Parents?

April 16th, 2008 by kdanielle

Every teenager wants computers, T.V.’s, I-pods, ski-doos, etc. And I don’t blame them partly because I’m a teenager and partly because it’s good to have those things. All parents want to give there kid(s) what they want and need; and the people that can have everything they want and need are lucky to be able to have that source.

From my parents I want things like the necessities in life, like a bed, food, a house, and clothes. But I also want the other things that people don’t really need, but they have more fun with them. :P

So being a good parent mainly involves the necessities in life, privileges, and discipline…not giving your kid everything they want and letting them have their way. To become a successful person in life teenagers need a healthy structure, but also they need to not be controlled, let them do as they please every once in a while; people need their space. And with them being a teenager they need more freedom from when they were 6 years old. Mainly…they need to grow up, and learn to do things for themselves.

So being a good parent overall is to have a structure for your kid(s) but also let them have their freedom.

Can It Be Boxed?

April 9th, 2008 by kdanielle

To me culture is a way of living, almost like a blueprint to life. A culture is something that people follow because they believe in it. To box up culture you must look at what is important to you, and think of what you would save to resemble your culture. For me, I don’t really follow a culture but if I had to pick a part of my culture to save I would have to say it would be food.

I would choose this because I come from a Hispanic family and food means something to them. Culture not only is a way of life, and what you would save from it. It is also has a part in what nationality you are; I am Hispanic, Italian, Irish, and a little bit German. Knowing this, I can know a little about my culture.

So knowing this information can become useful at one point in life. so culture can be boxed, it just takes time to think of what to box. It can mean different values to different people…maybe because of the culture that they come from.

Do you know your culture?

Test

March 26th, 2008 by kdanielle

Today in class we had a test, actually I just finsihed. It was on some of the stories that we read and did a little work on. The stories were Leiningen vs. the Ants, Lather and Nothing Else, and The Sniper. All of these stories had a level of violence in them that was maintained very well.

The test was another story, I mean I think I did alright on it but I think that I couldv’e done better; I guess we will see what my mark is.

Sorry this post wasn’t about my surprise plans for Spring Break, but don’t worry the next post will be! Well I think I’m going to go and look at other peoples blogs because we only ahve five mintues let until lunch. cya! =]

Nada

March 19th, 2008 by kdanielle

So far this week has been ok, I went to a movie at my friend Skye’s house with a bunch of people (Taiya, Darren, Logyn, Hannah, Paige, Randy, Dustin, Kelsey, and Skyler) it was pretty fun except when Skye was telling people to shut up. We watched I Am Legend, I had already seen it in theaters when it first came out; but the weird this is that that morning I was think about that movie.

Today I’m not sure what I’m going to do, Taiya and I are supposed to hang out with some people but I’m not sure who is all going. Hopefully it turns out well, byeee =]

Same Old, Same Old

March 17th, 2008 by kdanielle

While this weekend wasn’t as fun as the last, I guess I had a pretty good time. I stayed at Taiya’s this weekend and we had some people over Randy, Paige, Mike, and Kelsey. We kind of just hung around her house like we seem to do most of the time. No one ever wants to go into town because there is nothing to do.

After we got bored of sitting int eh house for a while we went out on the lake and had som sort of a fire; it was better than last time, Kelsey built a fire and then when he was done we thought we would go becak to her house lol.

Back at her house later that night we went on the computer, listened to music, and made milkshakes. It was a good time.

This Friday we have no school so we’ll see what happens. Bye.

Awesome Weekend

March 10th, 2008 by kdanielle

This weekend was really fun for me because I stayed at my friend Taiya’s house all weekend, and when I say all weekend I mean from Thursday night until Saturday night. On Thursday night we hung out at Randy’s for a bit and then went back to Taiya’s and went to bed right away because we had school in the morning.

On Friday night we were making plans with a bunch of people but then we didn’t end up hanging out with them because Mike and Kelsey showed up at my door telling us to go ski-dooing. We ended up going and it was pretty awesome, we went to Honker’s hill and by the beach; we didn’t go on the beach but we parked our ski-doos on the lake and went sliding on the little blue slide. After we were done ski-dooing we went back to my house and ordered a pizza. Mike and Kelsey went to go get it and then we sat at my kitchen table eating pizza and drinking Monsters. Later that night Taiya thought that it would be a good idea if Mike and Kelsey came over for a bit (to her house). When they finally did we realized that they didn’t have a ride back into town so they ended up sleeping there. We all stayed up till around 5 o’clock playing Wii and sitting in the garage.

In the morning we had to get up at 7 o’clock. When we did we all got ready to go to Thompson (they were invited). On the way there we listed to the radio and talked to each other. Kelsey wouldn’t stop changing the radio stations and I think that we were all annoyed with him until he stopped. When we got to Thompson we went to the mall, the first place we went was Wal-Mart after that Mike and Kelsey wanted to go to the Dollar Store; after the mall we thought that we would go to Doug’s Source for Sports, Mike was trying to get someone to buy him a sweater but his plan failed. While we were at Doug’s Taiya had to go get a new wire put on he braces, they said it would take 5 minutes but it ended up taking an hour and 10 minutes. While Taiya was there with he mom Mike, Kelsey and I looked at all the shoes and were picking out all the ugly ones (I’d like to say that I hold that record).

When we got back from Thompson everyone kind of just hung out for a bit. In the morning we were supposed to invite some people out to Taiya’s because we were having a fire on the lake; we invited Mike, Kelsey, and Dustin. When everyone got out there and the fire was started and everyone was settled people started to g ski-dooing, by that I mean just driving around on the lake. Brian let me drive our summit for bit which was really nice, he also took me for a ride on it and I almost fell off when he took off but it was fun. Taiya has a two-up so Mike drove, Taiya sat in the middle and I sat on the back; we were in the powder and we ended up face planting right into the snow, my entire visor was full of snow. Taiya and I were laughing the whole time until my moms helmet almost broke, but it was a snap on so it didn’t really matter.

So as you can see my weekend was pretty fun and I hope that this upcoming weekend is just as fun, bye.

Ski-dooing/Feb 5th

March 7th, 2008 by kdanielle

This past week I’ve been ski-dooing a lot, the first day I went with Mike and Dustin. We went to Honker’s Hill for a bit and watched Mike hit some jumps. After that Dustin said that we should go to the powder by Anderson dock.

We went in that for a bit (Dustin and I had to dig out Mike twice) and then we went back to my house for supper. Mike and Dustin ended up eating about the whole pizza. We watched T.V. for a bit and then I thought that we should go ski-dooing again or bit, and we were going to have a fire. That didn’t turn out very good because it was too cold and some other people didn’t have jackets on so we thought we would just go for a quick ride.

When we got back to my house we hung out for a bit (till’ 10). The next day we decided to go again but only without Mike, we went with Kelsey, we again went and played in the powder again, it wasn’t as fun as the day before but it was nice out that day.

I got suckered in to going ski-dooing again the next day. Mike came over to my house and said that we should go ski-dooing; we went over to Dustin’s but his ski-doo wouldn’t start, so Mike and I went without him.

Later that night we went to Randy’s and hung out with Paige, Taiya, Elaine, Dustin, and Kelsey. Randy got a haircut from Elaine that night, his hair looks pretty cool lol.

I’ll keep you posted on what happens net week, bye.

This Weekend

March 6th, 2008 by kdanielle

This weekend there is a lot of things going on for me, the first is that we have some famil coming in so I have to give up my room. I think I’m just going to stay at someone elses house the whole weekend.

Another thing that is happening is that on Friday night me, Mike, Kelsey, Dustin, etc. are going to have a bonfire on the lake. We haven’t had one all year so hopefully it’s not freezing outside.

And the next day I’m going to Thompson with one of my friends Taiya, I really need to go out of town. I haven’t been out of town since I went to Texas for Christmas break. This town can get pretty boring and also need some stuff from out of town, hopefully the trip will be fun and you never know…maybe someone else will tag along.

So folks you know what I’m doing this weekend so I’d guess I’d better get going not much else to write about…Toodles.
