What Did I Learn?
April 16th, 2008 by kdanielle
Researching and learning about this topic taught me a lot about it. Some things that I learned were: more children go hungry rather than adults, every 3.6 second a person dies of hunger 75% of them are children, there are organizations that help to end hunger but it is going to take a lot more than that, and I also learned that you can fight hunger by giving not only to charities but to the people you are still helping them.
With the things that I learned it allowed me to do my project with ease; because being able to just look at your notes and write them down it simple…you still ahve to have a good hit hard presentation. Overall while presenting my presentation I feel that I could have done a bit better, just slowed things down a little bit.
Now you know a little bit about what I learned and what I did with what I learned. Any questions about hunger? Leave a comment.

Moodle Chat and Skype Call
October 15th, 2007 by kdanielle
In some of my recent posts I have written about such a thing that we did which was have a chat with the kids from L.A. on the moodle. Most of you probably don’t know what a moodle is so let me fill you in. A moodle is something like a site where you can chat and read about the school that has that moodle.
Well, chatting on the moodle wasn’t the only thing that we did, we also had a skype call about the moodle and the questions that we had to answer to ensure that we were doing our work. A skype call is just like a telephone, you can call anyone around the world….on your computer completely free.
It’s pretty cool actually that we have that kind of technology right in the classroom, anyways back to my point. On this skype call we talked about the questions that we had to answer; some of the questions were about what was power, and how do you define it? Everyone really gave different answers and we all put a lot of thought into what we wrote.
I hope that we get to do something like this again because I feel that we learned a lot from it and it taught us a lot about power and relationships because we not only got to study what we thought about the words, but what other people 2700 miles away from us thought.

Moodle Chat
October 8th, 2007 by kdanielle
Earlier this week in class we had a moodle chat, I know it sounds kind of funny but it really was a moodle, it was jut like being on MSN.
On this moodle we chatted about four questions that we had to answer, the way that my group answered them was we each gave our example of what we thought about those questions.
Everyone pretty much had the same idea of what it is but also on some questions it was completely different, I can see this because of course we all have different thoughts and that would mean that we all have different opinions.
All of the examples that we gave were very well thought out and we all took are time to really think about what we were really going to be sending in that little white box.
Till next time…

News
September 6th, 2007 by kdanielle
Heyy,
I have some good news to tell all my readers, we are going to start writing in are blogs again. But with some new additions…and I mean by that new students. Which means for all the readers out there that they get to read some new and very interesting blogs. And don’t worry I’ll link to them J .
Not only are we starting are blogs again, we are starting a new year. This year I am in Mr. Fisher’s class again, due to the splits in the class. I love how he lets us blog and really lets us speak our minds.
So far class has been going good…well the two days that we have been here. I really enjoy still being in junior high because I’m a little scared to go into high school, but I guess I’ll get over it J .
I’m excited for junior volleyball to start because I really enjoy playing it, we played last year which was really fun. So I’m hoping that t will be even better this year.
This summer I didn’t really do much, the only really exciting thing that I did was go to a concert. I went to see Nickelback and they also had two opening bands which were State of Shock and Yellowcard. It was really fun and I’m excited to go to my other concert in October with my friend Elaine. We are going to see Taylor Swift, Brad Paisley, and Rodney Adkins.
So that’s how my summer went, not that interesting but I’m just glad that we had summer break. Well I guess I’d better get going, bye.
P.S.- Think of this post as a divider…from all the old stuff I wrote.

Exams and The End
June 27th, 2007 by kdanielle
I know that I haven’t written in a long time and that’s why I’m writing now. So far everything has been pretty good, and I’m so glad that we finished exams. We started them on the 22nd and they ended today (the 27th). They weren’t very hard but I always have trouble on math, but I passed them all. I don’t really like exams but I don’t think that anyone really does, this year a lot of people got exempted from the exams but I for sure didn’t…oh well.
There’s only 1 more day of school left but I wouldn’t really count it as a school day because we are only going to the award thingy. You know what’s weird? Is that I really want to go to the award thingy because for once I’ll actually be getting an award that doesn’t have to do with school. It’s for track, that we have here in Snow Lake
Anyways I think I’m going to go now…going to the gym to hang out with my mom’s classes, bye!

Birthday Party
June 8th, 2007 by kdanielle
I turned 13 years old on June 5th. I got a lot of really cool gifts and can’t wait to use them all. So I just wanted to let people know that I’m having a birthda party tomorrow at my cabin. That’s what we do every year but it’s always so fun people want to go out there all the time.
Last time we went out there we stayed up all night, but we sure had a blast. Right now I’m folding some laundry and watching T.V.
I guess I’d better get back to it, bye bye!

/!Speaking of Censorship/!
April 26th, 2007 by kdanielle
Well latley in school we have been talking about censorship, and I was just sitting on my computer thinking about the decision that Mr. Fisher decided on (editing out the picture of George Bush) and I was just thinking about the song Dear Mr. President by Pink. If you have ever listened to it what coices do you think she would ahve had to make about putting that song on her new album? I mean she does work in te U.S. and has a record label there, so why take the rick of all that? I think that she was trying to send out a messge, what do you think?

Studying
April 24th, 2007 by kdanielle
I just got back from the sitting on the deck studying, we have a science quiz on Thursday. I think I’ll do well.
It’s nice but still a little bit chilly, I guess thats how spring and summer nights get here. It’s always been like that. Not where I used to live, during the night it would always be very humid. I didn’t mind it that much.
I’m kind of bored right now and I’m not sure what to do, any ideas? Well I think that since I’ so bored I should get off the computer and go and watch T.V. big difference, eh?
Well best be going, ta ta for now!

Science Definitions

Homogenoes mixture: A homogenous mixture is when something is mixed together, and after it is mixed together the paricles that you have mixed in to the liquid have all dissolved into that liquid. So you can’t see the particles that could have been left in the drink if you would have mixed the particles into a different liquid that may have a different temperature or a different reaction to the particles.
Example: Iced Tea, you can;t see the particles because they were stirred in.

Hetrogeonous Mixture: A hetrogeneous mixture is the oppisite of a homogeneous mixture. It is when you mix something together and you can still see the particles that should ahve dissolved into the liquid.
Example: Hot chocolate that is mixed in cold water, you can still see the tiny particles that are left in the liquid.

Saturated Solution: A staurated solution is when all the spaces that are in between all of the particles are filled.
Example: Kool-Aid, in this drink you can see that the crystals have fell to the bottom.
Unsaturated Solution: An unsaturated solution is the oppisite of a saturated solution. It is when there is unfilled spaces in the glass.
Example: Kool-Aid, when you mix kool-aid and there is no crystaks at the bottom that means that there is unfilled spaces in the glass.
