My Personal Learning Network
September 28th, 2006 by kdanielle
Our teacher has told us to write a blog post about out PLN ( personal learning network). So I have decided to first tell you about my bloglines account. My bloglines account is all about who I put on my list, you can go to other people’s blogs and make them into a list on your bloglines acount. I really like it because it easy to organize your things and it keeps you up to date wiht only the blogs or other websites that you want to be kept up with. I have had a couple of blogs on my bloglines account and I also have websites but I have more blogs then sites. Another big part on bloglines accounts is that to get all of your blogs and websites to even be on your list you have to have RSS feeds. These are called rich site summary. They are very important to have whne owning a bloglines account. So I would suggest to anyone that has a blog or even surfs the web for spesific things that they should have their own bloglines account.
Until next time…Katherine

Taking a Good Picture and a Bad picture
September 26th, 2006 by kdanielle
Lately in class we have been discussing photography. When our teacher Mr. Fisher first said that we were going to start photography I was very excited because that is one of my choices of what I would like to do when I was older. So when you do take a picture you sometimes just want to take pictures of your family and friends and all the good times that you have had with them you would like to capture those moments. But in our class we are taking pictures that express a mood, so we have to take a picture of something and then tell what mood it expresses. But if you take a bad picture for example: If you are told to take a picture of a something that expresses a mood you shouldn’t be taking pictures of feet, your buddy’s, or your dog. You should be taking a picture of a pattern, nature, and also man-made things. We do this because when you do take a bad picture and then try to make it better by using effects it wont make the picture any better, you have to start off with a good picture and make it better if it needs to be. So I have really liked doing photography even though we have just started it because I think that it is the perfect thing for me.
Do you think this is a good picture or a bad
picture and why?
What mood does this picture express to you
why?
Signed, Katherine

Back from School
September 19th, 2006 by kdanielle
Hey
I just got back from school and today I don’t have any homework. Last night my mother told me I had to clean my room before I go anywhere so today I woke up early to get a head start and I finished it just a minute ago. I had a really good day in school today and I really like Mr.Fisher. Also in Home Ec we ordered these sewing kits and we will get them very soon. I really like doing them they are really fun. Right now I am just sitting on the computer and my sister is at work and my mom is on her daily work and yes Mr.Fisher she does go for walks LOL. By the way whenever I am on my computer I always listen to music and I would reccomend these songs: Gavin Degraw- We belong Together, Follow Through, I don’t Wanna Be, and Jealous Guy. These are really good songs well at least I think so, they are mostly slow songs but I don’t Wanna Be isn’t. So if you ever have the time I really think that you should download these songs. Anyways I have to go bye bye.
Until next time…Katherine

Thoughts about Emotions and Mood
September 19th, 2006 by kdanielle
Katie and Elaine
Lately in class we have been working on how to express different emotions in different ways. One way we discussed would be how to not draw a picture but to use different colours, lines and shapes. Another way we discussed emotions or moods was by taking a photo. It is sometimes hard to express these things by taking a photo for example taking a picture of a wave could say that it stands for hope also you could take a picture of other objects to express a mood or emotion.
How can you look at a picture and know what the mood is? Our opinion would be that when you look at a picture you look at the lines, shape and colour, but how do the lines; shape and colour express the mood?
What mood does this painting express to you?

Hey
Well I just got home from school and decided to go on my blog because I was bored. I had a good day at school today but after school I had to email this story to myself and it didn’t work so I hope that i don’t get in trouble. I really like these past few days that we have had at school, they have been really fun. I really like having blogs also. I think that they are a very good way for Mr.Fisher to get to know all of us. Also if you want to you can check out my other classmates blogs they are all very good. I really like my friend Elaine’s blog she explains things very well and is very discriptive in everything. Well anyways i have to go bye!
Until next time…Katherine

Text, Reading and Writing
September 13th, 2006 by kdanielle
Hey
This post that I am writing today is going to be about text, reading and writing as you can see on my title. Well I think that text is the main work done something like in a textbook the main thing done in it is writing, but there are still a lot of other things done in a textbook like the pictures and the questions. But text can be writing and painting and it can also be videogames. For reading I think that it is seeing things in different ways and understanding them. You can read a lot of things for example you can read a painting and you can read a photograph and of course you can read writing. Finally for writing I think that it is giving the information to people. So these are my own definitions of text, reading and writing.
